STATIC STEEL TARGETS
Our 3/8″ Steel Static Targets are steel shooting targets that are mounted rigid and just take the beating, generally mounted with a downward angle and are laser cut from high quality domestic plate. Angled steel metal shooting targets can help direct splatter and bullet fragments downward and reduce energy subjected to the target. Originally designed for the U.S. Navy, they are now available to all due to increased demand. Primarily designed as a pistol target may also be used as a rifle target, just keep velocities under 3000 f.p.s. and 3500 ft.lbs. energy. Designed to handle .223/5.56 even when shot at pistol distances. Our angled targets are available in 8″ rounds, 10″ rounds, 12″ x 12″ square, 12″x 18″ rectangle and 2/3rd scale (12.08″x20″) IDPA silhouettes and can be used with either our 10 degree holder and 20 degree holder , a few things to consider is the more a static steel target is tilted forward the perceived size of steel target is reduced and that when a steel shooting target is mounted ridged the “ring” sound we all want to hear when shooting steel targets is reduced. Our angled plates offer the user the durability and long-term use by being able to shoot both sides of the target by flipping target around on holder. Our AR500 Static Steel Targets are shipped unpainted allowing you to paint your preference of color or no paint at all.
Another option for Static Steel Targets is to use our Stab N Go steel target spikes in conjunction with any of the target plates used with our standard steel popper targets or our spring loaded auto resetting steel mini poppers. Just bolt the spikes to target with supplied hardware and stab in ground, and then shoot! The soil type may have an effect on the usability of these targets but can generally work it out.
