1/2" AR500 STEEL GONGS
Our 1/2″ steel gong targets are made for heavy duty steel shooting targets used with large magnum rifle calibers such as the .338 and .45-70 magnums, typically at 100 to 400 yards with no damage as long as impact velocity less than 3000 f.p.s., after that distance you can step down to our 3/8 thickness plates as the energy has reduced bellow 3500 ft.lbs. These 1/2″ steel target plates are super tough but are not generally going to last longer than our 3/8″ steel targets when used with non magnum calibers, one downfall to the thicker steel targets is the thicker mass dose not flex as much when hit with projectile, as a result of that, not as much sound will be reported when compared to a target of same diameter but thinner. They just like all of our steel shooting targets are laser cut from domestic AR500 or better steel master sheets. They may also be used with the .50 BMG at approximately 400 yards and beyond, obviously with no AP or similar rounds. These heavy duty steel shooting targets are available in sizes from 2” to 15” and can be used with one of our AR500 steel target stands, our T-Post hangers or you may choose to build your own steel target stand. Our 1/2″ AR500 steel gong targets are shipped unpainted allowing you to paint your preference of color or no paint at all.
